The challenges of injuries come in many different forms. One challenge is to keep the motivation to complete rehabilitation.
The journey of treatment can be long and often discourage patients. Many times, results are slow to appear, and this is extremely frustrating to someone suffering from a physical injury. Patients may start to reduce the frequency of treatment if they believe the results aren’t present and some may stop treatment altogether. Physical rehabilitation can be painful and exhausting, and to some too much to finish.
It is very import for a patient to have a support system during the rehabilitation process. Encouragement can go along away and giving a patient recognition for their rehabilitation efforts can motivate the patient to continue with the treatment. This system of support can come from a skilled nursing team, friends, physical therapist, and family. Living with an injury is challenging enough and feeling like progression isn’t apparent will test the patience of anyone. Receiving recognition and words of encouragement will prevent the patient from feeling hopeless, and help them overcome the physical disability at hand.
