LPN/ RN Admissions Part Time,  Shuksan

We have an immediate need for a part-time Admissions Coordinator. The selected candidate will not only possess the professional credentials for this position but will also have an innate ability to work compassionately with the elder population in which we serve.


Our approach to resident care is simple: we treat the whole person, not just the ailment. This means that our individualized care plans for residents incorporate top-quality rehabilitation and clinical care to address all physical symptoms, as well as mental stimulation, socialization, and support to address a resident's emotional needs.


Admissions Coordinator Responsibilities

Coordinates all admitting department operations in a nursing home environment. Ensures compliance with applicable standards. Oversees the in-patient/out-patient functions, bed assignments, and completion of preliminary paperwork for entering patients. Works with medical, nursing, and accounting staff to ensure appropriate patient placement. Confirms that all insurance benefits coverage meets standards of admission as dictated by policy.


1. Accurate completion and timely submission of Daily Census;

2. Assist to ensure a positive admission experience for resident and family;

3. Assist to maintain census goals, updated bed availability and facility services information by working with facility's interdisciplinary team as appropriate;

4. Compile and distribute admission papers which includes communicating the admission criteria to referral sources, residents and families as appropriate;

5. Ensure that all papers are properly completed, signed and distribution of paperwork to appropriate individuals;

6. Maintain working knowledge of medical, social and financial information relating to elder care including but not limited to Federal and state regulations and Medicare/Medicaid regulations and reimbursements;

7. Assisting with expedition of admissions process for emergencies;

8. Work with nursing and housekeeping staff in maintaining a model room for tours;

9. Participate in meetings to alert appropriate staff members of projected admissions, room changes, discharges and appointments/tours as appropriate;

10. Communicate special needs of new admissions to staff to ensure a smooth transition;

11. Concerns him/herself with the safety of all facility residents to minimize the potential for fire and accidents. Also, ensures that the facility adheres to the legal, safety, health, fire and sanitation codes by being familiar with his/her role in carrying out the facility's fire, safety, and disaster plans;

12. Always puts customer service first. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights;

6. Ability to work well with others and interact easily with a variety of healthcare professionals

7. Accurately complete and disseminate admissions paper flow

8. Ability to meet deadlines and conform to organizational policies

9. Should be technically savvy and knowledgeable in information technology and computer networking to maintain databases for referrers/referrals in a more efficient manner for increased admissions

10. Empathetic and adept in dealing with the geriatric population and families in crisis

11. Ability to expedite the assessment and admissions process in a manner that is consistent with our mission statement

12. Possess a high level of integrity


Education Requirements

1. Minimum of one (1) year admissions experience in a healthcare setting

2. Bachelor's degree

3. RN is preferred, but not required (LPNs will be considered)
